Edina, Minn., March 24, 2021 – Edina residents are encouraged to complete a short survey to share how they experience nature in Edina and any concerns they have for the future. The survey is one of the first steps in the City’s development of a Climate Action Plan.
The Climate Action Plan will help those who live and work in Edina imagine and achieve a future where the earth and all who live on it thrive. A team comprised of community representatives, content experts and City staff will work on the project, facilitated by consultant paleBLUEdot.
The survey launched March 24 online at BetterTogetherEdina.org/climate-action-plan. Feedback will be gathered there through June 6.
“I’m excited to hear from everyone in Edina, especially those most affected by climate change, including youth and seniors, residents with low incomes or disabilities, and communities of color,” said Sustainability Coordinator Grace Hancock. “This survey will help start to tell the story about Edinans’ experiences and opinions when it comes to planning for the future and a livable planet.”
The City's Energy & Environment Commission anticipates recommending a completed Climate Action Plan to the City Council in December. Implementation of the plan is expected to begin in early 2022.
