The Artwork

“Dreams Take Flight” depicts a five-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl dreaming of the future of aviation. The airplanes represented in this sculpture are a Convair 580 and a Boeing 747. This sculpture is one of two pieces recognizing the late Edina-resident Donald Nyrop, former CEO of Northwest Airlines, and the contributions the men and women of Northwest Airlines gave to the growth of commercial aviation.
