The City Clerk's and elections office is available to answer your questions about voter registration, absentee voting and elections. The City Clerk administers city, state and federal elections.
State Primary Election: Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Pre-registration deadline:5 p.m. Tuesday, July 24. State & Municipal General Election: Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Pre-registration deadline: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Edina Voting Precincts
Edina is divided into twenty precincts. Go to the Secretary of State's Polling Place finder to find your correct polling location and precinct.
In conjunction with the State General Election, Edina will hold its municipal election Nov. 6, 2018. Edina voters will elect two Council members at the November General Election. Terms for these Council positions are four years beginning Jan. 1, 2019 and ending Dec. 31, 2022.
People interested in running for office in Edina must file an affidavit of candidacy. The filing period will be July, 31, 2018 to Aug. 14, 2018.
To file for office, an individual must meet the following requirements:
Candidate must be an eligible voter.
Is, or will be on assuming the office, 21 years of age or more.
Maintained residence in the district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election.
Candidates must file an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a $5 filing fee with the City Clerk's office at City Hall, 4801 West 50th Street, Edina, MN 55424. Office hours are 8 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact City Clerk Debra Mangen, 952-826-0408.
