The City of Edina and the Edina Public School District have a long history of collaboration on projects and initiatives for the benefit of the community. In late 2018, City and District officials agreed to collaborate on a study of the impact on school enrollment of recent housing and population growth in Edina. The City and District jointly commissioned such a study by former State Demographer Hazel Reinhardt. Ms. Reinhardt and her team worked closely with the City and School District staff members to gather the most current information on housing growth and student enrollment to produce her report, which she delivered to a joint meeting of the School Board and City Council on March 6, 2019. Ms. Reinhardt’s report and Power Point presentation are available for the public to view.
