Volunteer fifteen minutes, twice a month, for cleaner waterways and a healthier community. Storm drains flow directly to local lakes, creeks, and wetlands, acting as a conduit for trash and other pollutants. Adopt-a-Drain asks residents to adopt a storm drain in their neighborhood and keep it clear of leaves, trash, and other debris to reduce water pollution.
If you hire a winter parking lot or sidewalk maintenance provider, ask if they are Smart Salting Certified.

Do you have access to a boat? Citizen scientists help collect data on local waterbodies through the Metropolitan Council’s Citizen Assisted Monitoring Program (CAMP). Contact your Watershed District to inquire about participating.
