Sports Dome Working Group

At its Aug. 3, 2011 meeting, the Edina City Council asked the Park Board to complete an analysis and assessment of current facilities, a needs assessment and financial feasibility study.

If the Council decides to move forward, the Park Board will then consider the issues of size of an indoor athletic facility, available locations, programming and ownership.

At its Aug. 9 meeting, the Edina Park Board approved the creation of a working group to conduct a public recreation facility inventory, and a feasibility study for a sports dome/indoor athletic facility. Working group members include Todd Fronek, Joseph Hulbert, Ellen Jones, David Deeds and Susan Jacobson.

Parks & Recreation Director Ann Kattreh serves as staff liaison to the working group.

Government Corner

Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
