Braemar Arena Skate School

Braemar Arena offers three sessions of skating lessons for beginners through advanced skaters, ages 4 through adult. We use the United States Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills and USA Hockey Learn to Skate Program to determine skating levels and our instructors are professionally accredited in both hockey and figure skating from the USFS and USA Hockey.

SKATE SCHOOL REGISTRATION DATES:

The winter session runs January through mid-April.

Online registation is available starting Dec. 5 for residents.

Online registration is available starting Dec. 12 for non-residents.

Once the class is filled, call the Front Office to be put on the waitlist.

BRAEMAR SKATE SCHOOL

SNOWPLOW SAM 1-3 (30min)

(Ages 3 through Kindergarten)
This is a class to teach the youngest skater to learn the basics while having fun! We offer three different levels. Snowplow Sam 1 is for the beginner. Runs Tuesdays, Saturdays or Sundays Jan. 10-April 19.

9:45a.m.; 1:30p.m.; 2 p.m.

Saturdays

10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., Noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m.

Sundays

Noon, 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $147 (12 weeks) or $136 (11 weeks)

PARENT/CHILD CLASS (Ages 3-6) (30min)

This is a class for the young skater who is apprehensive and would like Mom or Dad on the ice with them.

10:30-11 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 14-April 15

Cost: $147

BASIC SKILLS 1-6 (Ages 6+) (30min)

These classes start at the beginning levels and progress to learning all the edges, crossovers and turns.

11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., Noon, 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $147 (12 weeks)

Sundays

Noon, 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $136 (11 weeks)

JUMP AND SPIN BASIC (Levels Basic 3-8)

This class is for skaters who are interested in advancing their figure skating skills. Skaters will begin learning skills to incorporate jumps and spins while developing their skating skills.

TERMITE HOCKEY CLASS (Ages 4-6)

This 45-minute class is for those ages 4 to 6 who have passed Snowplow Sam 3. This class will focus on skating skills with some stick handling.

1:15 p.m.

Cost: $206 (12 weeks)

BEGINNING HOCKEY 

Learn basic hockey skills thorugh skating exercises and drills. Must have passed Snowplow Sam 2 or Basic 1.

Saturdays, Jan. 14-April 15

12:30 p.m.

Cost: $147 (12 weeks)

USA HOCKEY (Levels 2-4)

This class will focus on skating skills for hockey including strides, stops, backwards and edges. Skater must have a stick, helmet and gloves for this class.

Saturdays, Jan. 14-April 15

1 p.m.

Cost: $147 (12 weeks)

SKATERCISE AND COFFEE

Exercise to classical music on ice and then socialize and sip coffee in the Lobby Lounge.

Wednesdays, Jan. 11-April 12

9:30 a.m.

Cost: $120 (12 weeks) or $15 drop-in fee per visit

ADULT LEARN TO SKATE

For beginners or those adults who want to improve their skills.

9 a.m. Tuesdays (45 minutes) or noon Saturdays (30 minutes)

Cost: $147 (12 weeks of 30-minute classes) or$206 (12 weeks of 45-minute classes)
