Traffic Division
The Public Works Department's Traffic Division is responsible for ensuring the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the City's right-of-ways.
This is accomplished by:
- Installation and maintenance of all street name signs
- Installation and maintenance of all regulatory and advisory signs
- Lane striping (center lines and bike lanes)
- Pavement markings (turn lanes, arrows, etc.)
- Crosswalk painting.
Other duties include:
- Guardrail repair
- Graffiti control
- Providing barricades for block parties
- Work zone traffic control
Government Corner
Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
