The Edina Parks & Recreation Department oversees 40 parks covering more than 1,550 acres. It maintains 8 miles of scenic pathways, operates 10 facilities and works with 14 different local youth sports associations. The department also maintains many year-round programs for people with disabilities.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Edina Parks & Recreation Department is to do our part in further developing, preserving, and maintaining the City of Edina's parks, recreation programs and resources as a premier and comprehensive parks and recreation department in the Twin Cities area.

Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
