Special Events

The City of Edina is home to a variety of special events.

Walk With The Mayor

Typically held at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month, community members are welcome to join Mayor Hovland on a walk in Edina while he discusses current events and issues the City faces. For more information on Walk With the Mayor, click here.

Fourth of July

Edina marks Independence Day with a Fourth of July parade, concert and fireworks. The hour-long parade begins at 10 a.m. behind Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St and proceeds one mile east on 50th Street to the U.S. Bank parking lot at Halifax Avenue. Presenting sponsors are Lunds/Byerly’s and U.S. Bank. Music and fireworks will be held at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St., beginning at 8:30 p.m. For more information, click here.

Night to Unite

Edina neighborhoods will join forces with communities statewide for the “Night to Unite” crime prevention event. Neighbors are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors.

Night to Unite is designed to:

  • Get to know one another in your neighborhood.
  • Build neighborhood involvement by bringing police and communities together.
  • Bring awareness to crime prevention and local law enforcement efforts.

Open Streets on 50th

We close West 50th Street between Wooddale Avenue in Edina and Chowen Avenue in Minneapolis for the Open Streets on 50th event in September!

The street will be open to bikes and pedestrians to enjoy music, dance, games, crafts, yoga and other creative and active events. Civic, athletic, artistic, creative and neighborhood groups, as well as businesses will participate! Open Streets is dog-friendly, too! Learn more here.
