Adult Volleyball

Bump, set, spike! The City of Edina Parks & Recreation Department is forming its adult volleyball leagues.

Official games will be held Wednesday evenings beginning mid-October. The leagues end play in early March. This season, there will be a co-recreational "D-level" division. Playoffs will be a double-elimination tournament.

All players must have legal Edina residence or be employed in Edina full-time, year round and be at least 18 years of age by Sept. 30. Temporary or part-time employees are not eligible.

"Adult volleyball is a great way to bond with your company co-workers, neighbors or friends while getting a great workout," said Recreational Supervisor Donna Tilsner.

Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
