The Energy & Environment Commission (EEC) is holding a new, annual Home Energy Fair in partnership with Xcel Energy.

Home Energy Fair
9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7
Braemar Golf Course Clubhouse
6364 John Harris Drive, Edina

The focus of the Fair will be on reducing energy use for homeowners, as well as identifying ways to save money in the process.

The City of Edina has a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2025. The Home Energy Fair is a place where residents will be able to learn and make plans towards reducing their electricity at home.

The free event is very family friendly and offers several events for kids of all ages, as well as door prizes for the adults. Attendees will be able to sign up for a home energy squad visit that can help them understand where there are energy leaks in their home. Additionally they can sign up for Windsource energy through Xcel Energy, which is an alternative energy program the City is encouraging. Exhibitors include a range of services and organizations including general contractors who can discuss conserving energy through installing insulation, solar farm vendors, home energy experts and other renewable energy organizations. Light refreshments will also be available.
