The Human Resources Department is dedicated to partnering with other City departments to ensure that the City's employment practices are aligned to meet the goals of the City.

We do this by developing systems that allows the City of Edina to recruit, develop, reward and retain top talent to meet the ever-changing needs of the City. This includes:

  • Developing recruitment and selection systems to hire top talent.
  • Designing, implementing, and negotiating cost-effective compensation and benefits plans that reward and retain the right talent.
  • Providing leadership consulting and training.
  • Developing employee performance management, training and development programs that align with city goals.
  • Developing employment policies based on best management practices and compliance with employment laws.
  • Providing effective employee and labor relations to balance the needs of all stakeholders.
