Crime Prevention

Our community enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a safe place to work and live. However, crime happens -- even here! The men and women of the Edina Police Department are concerned about the safety and security of residents, businesses and their employees.

If you should experience a theft or burglary or other crime, the Department will work hard to recover your property and bring the perpetrator to justice, but officers and staff would rather help you prevent the crime. Please read the Prevention Tips at the left for some effective, practical suggestions.

Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
