The City of Edina offers free WiFi at all of its major buildings and some parks.

The "Edina Open" wireless network is provided as a service to the community and is subject to all applicable policies and guidelines of the City of Edina and all state and federal laws related to internet use, including copyright laws.

Guest access on "Edina Open" provides filtered, limited bandwidth for the following services:

  • Web access
  • Email service
  • VPN service

Because free internet access is provided on an unsecured wireless network, it is strongly recommended that users not use it to transmit personal, financial or legal data. It is not possible for the City to protect users of Edina Open against malicious theft or interception of personal data. The City will not assume responsibility for the safety of equipment or harm done to mobile device configurations, security or data files resulting from connection to the City's wireless service. Virus and security protection is the responsibility of the wireless user.

Users must agree to the above and to abide by the City's Computer Use Policy and other applicable policies and guidelines before gaining access to Edina Open.

For more information on Edina Open or the City's other wireless networks, contact I.T. Manager Ryan Browning, 952-826-0434.
