Crime Statistics

Each week, the Edina Police Department prepares a crime report for the public.

Crime statistics are broken down into “Part 1” and “Part 2” crimes.

Part 1 crimes are more serious in nature and are generally crimes against people. Included in the Part 1 crimes are murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft and theft from autos.

In general, Part 2 crimes are property-related. Part 2 crimes include forgery, fraud, vandalism and disorderly conduct. The "Other" category includes crimes such as embezzlement, vagrancy and prostitution.
