Youth players are welcome at any of the Braemar Golf Courses!
Academy 9 Par 3 Course:
Juniors ages 10 and up may play without adult supervision.
Juniors ages 6-9 may play with adult supervision.
Juniors age 12 and up may play without adult supervision.
Juniors ages 8-11 may play with adult supervision.
Junior Leagues (Ages 10-18)
Braemar Junior Golf Leagues are available for any level of golfer. Depending on their age and playing abilities, golfers will play the Regulation Course or on the Academy 9 Par 3 Course. Some prior instruction is recommended. The leagues are supervised by our professional golf staff.
PGA Junior League at Braemar Golf Course
The PGA Junior League Golf is for boys and girls ages 10-13. The league is a fun, exciting and engaging team format program! Participants get to play with friends, receive coaching from the PGA Professional and compete against other local golf courses. The Minnesota Golf Association, in partnership with Braemar Golf Course and other courses, conducts a State Junior Competition program. It is open to advanced boys and girls ages 18 and under.
The five-person team will participate in weekly competitions with other area golf courses and have a chance to advance to the regional play and then the Junior Championship in August. Junior Get Ready Golf Lessons
A basic introductory program for youth to learn the game of golf. Lessons include the fundamentals of the golf swing, chipping and putting skills. All classes meet for five 50-minute sessions, once a week.
For boy and girls of beginner and intermediate levels ages 8-18.
Little Tykes (ages 6 & 7)
A first introduction to the game of golf. All classes meet for four half-hour lessons, once a week.
Starting New at Golf – Ages 4-7
Join Braemar Golf Pros as they teach golf in a fun, easy way. SNAG uses colorful equipment, larger club heads and bigger balls to make golf exciting and teachable to young ages. Total class size is six students. Each class is 45 minutes in length.
Winter Kids Kamp (available for winter break only)
The holiday break is a great time for kids to get out of the house with their friends. Kids Kamp is an introductory golf program taught with fun. Kids Kamp is for children ages 6-14.
Winter Junior Development
The Junior Winter Development program is designed for experienced junior players preparing for competition at the high school JV or Varisty level.
Players will focus in their fundamentals with the goal of developing repeating swings. Video analysis using the V1 Coaching System will help students compare their swings to the pros and allow them to visually identify areas for improvement. The group will compete in short-game challenges and full-swing competitions. Players will also be evaluated for their golf fitness and provided with strengthening exercises.
The program is taught by PGA Member Roger Fahrenkrug, a Braemar Golf Instructor for 20 years. Roger has experience teaching all levels of juniors, including several Minnesota Junior PGA champions, as well as other Minnesota PGA professionals and amateur golfers of all skill levels.
The fee includes five private lessons, nine one-hour supervised group sessions, practice aids and a learning manual. Classes are limited to six students per hour. The program meets January-March.

Join us for a one-hour lesson and some fun at the golf dome for Martin Luther King and President's Day breaks. School's Out Kids Kamp is an introductory golf program for ages 6-10.
For boys and girls who have a strong interest in golf, emphasis is on shot-making, player development, strategy, rules and etiquette. Two different levels are offered. Maximum class size is eight students with two instructors.
