Board of Appeal and Equalization
The Board of Appeal and Equalization is comprised of five citizen members appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council.
The purpose of this Board is to provide a fair and objective forum for property owners to appeal their property valuation or classification. The Board has the authority to decrease, sustain or increase the market value of a property.
Members of the Board of Appeal and Equalization include Ron Anderson, Michael Friedberg, Jeffrey Johnson, N. Craig Johnson and Gordon Tuchenhagen.

Government Corner
Under state law, a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and salaries of its three highest-paid employees. As of Jan. 1, 2013, those positions in Edina are City Manager, $156,043; Police Chief, $129,958; and Director of Engineering, $129,958.
