Situated immediately southwest of Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Edina has a population of 47,941. It is a first-ring suburb known for its shopping and dining, its parks and recreational facilities and the excellent quality of life for residents.

Getting here
Edina is just a few minutes’ drive from downtown Minneapolis and easily reachable from multiple highways and freeways. The City is conveniently divided into four sections by Minnesota State Highways 62 and 100.

Shopping
Edina has numerous retail shopping centers, including Southdale Center, the first climate-controlled, fully enclosed mall in the United States. Other shopping centers include Galleria, Yorktown and Centennial Lakes Plaza. The City also boasts a thriving downtown area at 50th Street and France Avenue, known simply as "50th & France."

Major employers in the City include Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina Public Schools, City of Edina, BI Worldwide, Regis Corporation, Barr Engineering, Lund Food Holdings, International Dairy Queen, Edina Realty and FilmTec Corporation.
