Teacher/Student Exhibition

Feb 9 – March 15, 2017

Opening Reception: 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9

The Edina Art Center’s annual Teacher/Student Exhibition is a collaborative show of works created in the community of the Edina Art Center. The exhibit examines the impact and influence that teacher has on the student, and vice-versa. Each year, students and faculty are invited to submit on piece of work created in the past year for exhibition. Artwork is grouped so viewers may see obvious or subtle factors of inspiration and support. The Teacher/Student Exhibition is an opportune time for new students to view work of instructors that they may like but are unfamiliar with to study under their guidance.

Gary Carabio Exhibition

March 23 – April 26, 2017

Opening Reception: 5-8 p.m., Thursday, March 23

Artist Gary Carabio is featured in a one man show beginning March 23. Mr. Carabio’s work captures the quiet moments of our human experience within nature through watercolor, pastel, acrylic and oil paint.  Adept at portraiture, landscape and figure studies in pastel, oil and acrylic, this exhibition includes some exquisite works with a water and watercraft theme. Gary’s study of boats and light hitting the surface of water demonstrates an effortless realism and delicate attention to detail. The show is a striking exhibit of artwork from an award winning artist.
