Arbor Day

The City of Edina's Parks and Recreation Department encourages residents to take part in Arbor Day activities.

The City of Edina is proud to be part of Tree City USA.

Read the proclamation here.

“Tree planting and proper care of trees are vitally important aspects of environmental stewardship locally and globally,” said Former City Forester Tom Horwath. “Trees provide for us not only aesthetic benefits, but also necessary environmental functions and important resources. Arbor Day is a special day to be thankful for all trees and all that they have to offer for us, beginning with the air we breathe.”

National Arbor Day will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016.

The community is invited to participate in the tree-planting activities at Normandale Park beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29. City Forester Luther Overholt will lead the planting of four Crab Apple trees.
